Dreaming...

I have been dreaming of my future home...well decorating my future dream home is more like it.

I have decided that either the living room or if we were to get so lucky to have an entertainment room, it would be painted in a warm color and be decorated with band gig posters! I found this great website called Gigposters.com . Here are a few of my favs. Though the colors don't quite go together, they would probably need to be spread throughout my imaginary dream house.

I'm sure I can find many more. But this is a good start

What the french toast!

I forgot to mention that last Saturday, Matthew and I saw a mosquito. In February! It was probably the most bizarre thing I have seen in a while. Now the warm temperatures seem to have tapered off. No hope for spring yet! It is supposed to get back down to 10 or 5 above by the end of the week. Oh how I long for summer!

Back from the more frozen north

I just got back to Dillingham on Tuesday from a training/mini vacation in Fairbanks. It was so nice to get out of the Dill if only for a week and a half. I didn't want to come back! Though, Matthew was the deciding factor of returning. We both took yesterday off and lounged around the apartment, barely getting out of bed. It was great!

Today I have to go back to work and I am not looking forward to it. Luckily, only two days until the weekend. I think I can survive!

I bought a new comic while I was in Fairbanks (in addition to buying more "Y: the Last Man" and "Fables") called "The Unwritten". So far it seems to be inspired by Harry Potter, but quite a bit darker. Its a Vertigo comic and I really seem to enjoy all of their titles (so far). I almost picked up a title called "House of Mystery" but decided I was going way over budget. Maybe next time. This title though seems really disturbing and sick. I was intrigued! It might give me nightmares though. :-P

Oh and speaking of comics, did I mention I got tickets to the San Diego Comic-Con? Now I need help on figuring out who to dress up as.

What super hero or comic character do you think I should dress up as?

More on the cat...

Kitty is getting noticeably thinner! The diet is working! Currently she is tearing around the apartment for no apparent reason. At least one of us is getting exercise!

I am anxious for the winter to be over. Even though Fairbanks is horribly cold, I never felt quite so trapped there as I do here in Dillingham. I need a change of scenery. I am going to Fairbanks in two weeks for some training, which will be nice. Sadly, Matthew can't go with me because of his work. Figures.

In other news, I pretty much have all the tools necessary to do stained glass. I drew out a mountain scene pattern today and I plan on cutting the pieces. Maybe tomorrow I'll start soldering. I'll post pictures of my progress.

Cat trash

The cat's new adventure: paw at cabinet under sink making all sorts of noise, finally get cabinet under sink open, ponder the trash can, jump in said trash can, knock over trash can, run for your life.

I guess she is fed up with the diet so much, trash is looking like an appealing option.

Nerd <3

I have a new blog that Nicole and I are joining forces on. Its called Nerd <3 Girls . Mostly we'll be blogging about anything that is of interest to us and other nerdy girls. :-) You should check it out!

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a safe and fun New Year's eve. I'm excited to see what 2010 has in store for me! For the last couple years, life has taken some unexpected turns and I hope 2010 is no different.
